Thank you to all who prayed for and those who attended my
LSU Chapel on the Campus event: Evidence-Answers
(Questions of Life)
Origin, Purpose, Suffering, Destiny
We had a surprisingly large attendance even though
a local running race for cancer caused the police to block off
the streets all around us. While some folks later wrote and said
they couldn't get through, others parked many blocks away
and hiked to the event anyway. By God's grace, and in spite of me
the audience response to the information seemed to be very positive.
It was an attempt to condense my 6 hour presentation into 2 hours.
Sorry to all who missed the event and hoped to get an audio
or video copy - the host microphone had an electrical short.
It was wonderful meeting so many PhD and post-doctoral students from
all over the world (Africa, Iran, South America, Iraq, China, etc ...). The many who
were not Christians, yet believers in God, expressed joy and excitement about
all of the amazing scientific evidence pointing to God's existence. Clearly,
true creationism is one of the most powerful bridges for cross cultural
and inter-faith evangelism.
Even better was meeting many international PhD and post-doc students who were already strong Christians and who excitedly shared how they want to take
God's science truths about His World back to their countries as a means to spread faith in God's WORD! I have new international email addresses and will be
following up with encouragement and linking them to creation organizations.
The Q&A was the most FUN, with a number of angry atheistic evolutionists,
who became so emotional it was interesting maintaining order. As I shared during
the outbursts, it reminded me of my zoo-keeping days when I had to go out
into the wolves' and hyenas' enclosure and coax them into the right den with a broom. So, I guess being sort of a "sheepdog" of the GOOD SHEPHERD helps.
** Please pray with humble empathy for the few young men who reacted so emotionally (2 Timothy 2:23-26).

Remember, I was once right where they are now when I was an LSU student 30 years ago.
Also, the LSU newspaper, The Reveille, had a reporter there who at the start asked
if he could take photos and do a story. I agreed, and his article as well as one from a Reveille columnist who did not attend are linked below.
Finally, many of the attendees who came up afterward expressed how much they
would like me to come back and do a full 6 hour presentation some day. That
would be fun and I believe much more effective if it ever works out. Instead, a full
conference with representatives from major creation organizations would be
even better.
So, please pray for my follow-up and for the growth of the many seeds that seemed
to be planted in fertile soil.

- They ignore the world renowned scientists who have spoken out against macroevolution at great risk to their careers, esteem, etc. (Inventor of the MRI, inventor of the Gene Gun, and 100's of others)
- They rarely address the big origins questions that cannot be answered by macroevolution (origin of matter, origin of DNA/Cell, origin of all the genomes).

"Simply Shocking: Censored Science vs. Creationism"

On Saturday, Feb 19th, I presented a brief two hour summary of a six hour seminar with a 300 slide Power Point at The Chapel on the Campus LSU. The seminar emphasizes conclusions from world renowned scientists who because of new evidence now reject macroevolution via mutations. Two dramatically different Reveille staff articles were written in response, "Creationist lecturer argues Bible more rational than evolution" by Matthew Albright and "Shockingly Simple: Creationists should never have left the ark" by Andrew Shockey. Albright's article was fair and accurate. Shockey's article, in contrast, reflected today's typical "shock-value", tabloid journalism.
Shockey, who did not attend the seminar and said he only read the Power Point online, wrote a piece that was grossly inaccurate in both its implicit message and its explicit claims. The implicit message, so common from anti-ID and anti-creation authors, is conveyed by the intentional omission of the many world renowned scientists and historians quoted in the seminar and whose research, evidence, inferences, and conclusions are covered in the Power Point. Shockey's explicit claims have been thoroughly challenged by world-class astrophysicists, geophysicists, geneticists, and biologists, including Dr. Sanford of Cornell University (inventor of the Gene Gun), Dr. Damadian (inventor of the MRI), etc. For example, Shockey's claim regarding "lactose tolerance in humans" as evidence of evolution has been specifically and thoroughly countered by numerous scientists mentioned in the seminar, including the authors of a new European book, Should Christians Embrace Evolution, edited by Dr. Norman Nevin. He is Professor Emeritus of Medical Genetics, Queen's University of Belfast and Head of the Northern Regional Genetics Service. It is quite telling when anti-creationists like Shockey avoid addressing the research, reasoning, and conclusions of scientists like Nevin - and therefore pretend to their readers that these scientists do not exists. Such deliberate omission is not journalistic honesty or critical thinking. Shockey's exclusive focus on me, a mere "reporter/translator" of the scientists, as if the views presented are only my own, was not an oversight by him. It is a common tactic. Since he says he read my Power Point, then he cannot claim ignorance regarding these scientists. Please note Dr. Nevin's further credentials available on the internet - possibly why Shockey, a sophomore bioengineering student avoided mentioning him.I made it clear that the seminar is primarily the reporting of what I have gleaned from these respected scientists through personal dialogue with them, as well as careful study of their materials in addition to those of evolutionary scientists. When authors like Shockey intentionally hide not only the opposing statements and evidence, but even the very existence of these world-class scientists, the result is science-censorship.
Too often, that which is claimed as critical thinking in academia is actually consensus thinking. The result is that the "authority" upon which beliefs are based becomes the "majority", instead of a careful analysis of evidence from the best scholarly sources. Truly critical (logikos) thinking requires uncensored-science.

Email Dialogue:
An email I sent to an atheist who did not attend the seminar, and only read the LSU Newspaper story about it:
Dear ______,
I'm curious about why in such a long response you completely ignored [the central point of my last email to you], which was that you have avoided reading the research, evidence, inferences, and conclusions from world renowned astrophysicists/astronomers, geophysicists/geologists, geneticists [Inventor of the MRI, inventor of the Gene Gun, and 100's of others], etc that challenge the common consensus of macroevolution.If a careful, personal evaluation of the evidence, and not merely majority consensus, is really the basis of your worldview, then you will do what I have done. That is, you will study the best of both sides thoroughly. If and when you have done that, then I'd be glad to continue dialogue with you. In the mean time, my friend, there are many other evolutionists with whom I regularly dialogue who believe much as you do - yet they have read extensively the best of ID and creationists.
So if and when you do a thorough investigation of both interpretations of the evidence, then let me know.
