Why Change the
Name and Domain from
"Soulcare Family
Ministries"
to
"Genesis Family Education"
After over 20
years as a biblical family counselor, speaker, and regional
counseling supervisor, a specific burden has developed in my heart,
resulting in new workshop entitled, "Creation: The
Cornerstone of Counseling". In order to better communicate this
core emphasis of our ministry and encourage others to think more
clearly about the root of their own beliefs and practices, we have
chosen to change the ministry name to "Genesis Family Education".
As the Lord allows the time and cost, our website content will move
to a new internet domain (genesisfamilyeducation.org).
Another reason for
this planned domain change is that other organizations later took
the name we coined, "soulcare", for their website domains by using
different extensions (.net, .com, etc). Such a use of someone
else's domain name creates confusion on the web and is something we
strongly discourage. In contrast, we encourage everyone to honor the
original purchase of a unique domain name as a matter of integrity
and courtesy. Since our domain name, www.soulcare.org, has become
so widely linked through search engines and other sites over the
past decades, we will also keep www.soulcare.org indefinitely with a link
to our new domain, genesisfamilyeducation.org, once content is
transferred.
Both creation and
counseling have been personal passions ever since becoming a
believer. Before spending over two decades as a biblical counselor, I was
a zookeeper (literally lions, tigers, and bears at the Audubon
Zoological Gardens in New Orleans). For the past few years, I've
been increasingly involved in the creation movement, teaching
creation / counseling conferences, etc. In fact, I am also now
teaching On-Level Biology,
Honors Biology, and
AP Biology at a
large, Christian, college prep high school just north of New
Orleans, Northlake Christian School in Covington, Louisiana.
The school's staff, students, and families have been a wonderful
blessing to our family.
Creation, the
biblical truths about how and why God designed His universe, under
gird all of Christianity. What a person, family, church,
counselor, ruler, or even nation believes about the origin of the
universe, earth, life, and man is the central root producing its
practical and moral fruit. The cultural root of evolution's
"survival of the fittest" produced the Holocaust in Germany as well
as the modern holocaust of abortion. However, this root is especially
insidious in the
realm of individual and family relationships.
Jesus said in John
3:12 that if a person does not believe what He (the Word of God) said
about earthly physical things, then that person's trust in spiritual
things would be severely hindered. The unwarranted rejection of the
historical and scientific accuracy of Genesis chapters 1-11 has been
one of the most destructive factors affecting the spiritual health
of Christians, families, nations, and our world. Genesis 1-11
is the foundation of every major doctrine in Christianity,
especially the moral principles that lead to personal and corporate
"love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, self-control" (Galatians 5:16-25).
Why have 1,000's of PhD
scientists rejected macroevolution?

They include the inventor of the MRI &
professors at major universities.
- Yet, PBS, National Geographic, & Scientific American
claim there are none.
- If new evidence has convinced 1,000's, then shouldn't you find out why?

What kind of "god" is portrayed
by theistic evolution?
- Remember, survival of the fittest depends upon pain, fear, suffering, &
death.
- In contrast, the God of the Bible is the Good Shepherd.
- Theistic evolution is a belief that blasphemes God by making Him a
monster.
Why is the character of our Creator
the cornerstone of counseling?
- The foundation for
consistent peace, joy, & unselfish love must be trust in God.
- Believing that God desired & designed disease & death does not
lead to trust.
- Good News: Willful sin, Satan, & selfishness are the cause, not
God.
Dr.
A.E. Wilder-Smith (Christian / Young Earth Creationist)
is one of very few scientists who earned three doctorates in physical sciences from
prestigious universities - Oxford, then Geneva, and finally Zurich. The

Science is
wonderful. Yet, please note below, the confession of
Harvard biologist, Richard Lewontin, in New
York Review of Books, January 7, 1997, regarding the bias in
much of modern science against God.
"Our willingness to accept scientific claims that are
against common sense is the key to an understanding of the
real struggle between science and the supernatural. We
take the side of science in spite of its
failure to fulfill many of its extravagant promises of health
and life, in spite of the tolerance of the scientific
community of unsubstantiated just–so stories, because we
have a prior commitment, a commitment to materialism.
It is not that the methods and institutions of science somehow
compel us to accept a material explanation of the phenomenal
world, but on the contrary, that we are forced by our a
priori adherence to material causes to create an apparatus
of investigation and a set of concepts that produce material
explanations, no matter how counterintuitive, no matter how
mystifying to the uninitiated. Moreover, that materialism is
absolute, for we cannot allow a Divine Foot in the door.”

* The Bible stands alone as the only book which claims to prove
its Divine authorship by predicting the future hundreds of times
with 100% accuracy. God, through Isaiah in chapters 41-48,
sets forth this prophetic challenge in opposition to all of
man's idols. Every prophecy whose time has already past
has been fulfilled in such a detailed and accurate manner that
the only logical inference (faith is the evidence of things not
seen) is that our Creator who transcends space and time (past
and future) was the sovereign guiding source of its content.
1. Hermeneutics: This is the formal process of
interpreting written documents, including the Bible.
2. Day: The Hebrew term “yom” mean a normal 24 hour day in
Genesis (qualifiers = #, evening, morning).
3. Earth: The Bible says the heavens and the earth are
thousands not millions of years old.
4. Life: The living God made plant “life” (DNA), created
(bara) nephesh animals, and humans.
5. Death: The Bible says the origin of dysfunction,
disease, and death is the sin of Adam.
6. Flood: The Bible says that Noah’s flood was global,
destroying all nostril breathing creatures.
7. Babel: The Bible says the Tower was the spark for
different cultures and languages, not races.
8. JESUS: The writers of Scripture & Jesus all taught
about Genesis 1-11 as literal history.
9. Salvation: Being saved in Noah’s Ark was a physical,
prophetic picture of being saved “in Christ”.
10. Action: What should you and I do now?
Conclusion:
A. Biblical counselors (especially pastors and parents) have a
responsibility to base their counseling models and
methodologies upon the principles of
literal biblical creation.
B. Everyone needs to
understand this vital link: the truths of creation and how to apply
