Historical, Political, Government (Christian):
-
Please remember, as ambassadors of Jesus' Kingdom, we are not to battle with the civil authorities. We are actually commanded by our King, the Son of God, to "obey" and show "honor" to all civil authorities (Mat 22:16; Rom 13; Titus 3:1-8; 1 Pet 2:13-17; Jude 8-9).
[An excellent tape sermon by Dr. John MacArthur is available for
FREE (only to first timers) by mail request to: Email address = letters@gty.org    Tape Title = "Obeying Civil Authorities"
Also see MacArthur's, The Christian & Government (Romans 13:1-7) [A solidly biblical, yet unpopular message about how Christians should & shouldn't respond to government. Conclusion: rebellion is wrong!]

Proverbs 14:12 "There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death/destruction"
We certainly are to vote, lobby, and utilize other legal mean of respectful appeal. But most of all, we are to model the humble strength of our Lord, His Way of hypotasso (Mat 11:28-30; John 14:6; 1 Pet 2:21-25). And secondly, we are to practice disciplined discipleship both at home and gathered as the church. We must equip one another and our children in the Way that will L.E.A.D. to Restoration (Love - Equipping - Accountability - Discipline). As the World turns, it is not turning in repentance. And in the midst of the increasingly anti-Christian atmosphere, we must reflect the image and character of our Lord Jesus, the fruit of His Spirit both at home and as the church.

Disclaimer: Acts 17:11
Please note that we are not endorsing all of the content presented in any of the above resources. Both the Christian and non-Christian resources are listed only for the specific reasons described in each heading. You are responsible to practice the Berean principle of Acts 17:11 and examine all material according to the Scriptures.   We believe that the answer to the modern search for counsel regarding the psyche and its relationships is found only in Christ's time-tested 2,000 year old provision for soul care (i.e., His Cross, Spirit, Word, and Church Body). We also believe that a soulcare ministry should be an integral part of, and under the authority of a local church fellowship. As such, fees should not be charged for soulcare ministry. (see our article re: Money & Ministry).   We believe the Bible is inerrant and sufficient for all non-organic soulcare needs, without the admixture of any extra-biblical theories. So please be aware that we respectfully disagree with many of the following resources where they do not stand firm regarding these vital doctrinal issues.
