Since so many people have asked me to collate my scattered web writings related to this subject into a book, hopefully I'll complete it one day. The book has been on my heart and actually in progress for years. Please pray that my limited writing ability and my "absent-minded professorism" won't get in the way of the simple message of His Word. Please think about it. If our Creator deliberately desired and designed the horribly violent process of survival of the fittest, pain, fear, suffering, and death, then what kind of Character would He be? Sounds more like a malevolent monster to me - and to many others - thus undermining trust in their Maker. The Good Shepherd is always better than our minds can fathom.

Above all other requests when I travel and speak, more people have asked me to write a lengthy article on this subject. It will be an expansion from one of my old seminary - master's degree -
research papers stimulated by John Wesley's message on the "General Deliverance". It will include many
fun animal stories from
years working with elephants and carnivores (literally
lions, tigers, & bears) at the Audubon
Zoo, rescuing and rehabbing wildlife, as well as "animal-assisted"
ministry (i.e., counseling, education, etc) (AAM Video). The Good Shepherd is always better than our minds can fathom.
New ARTICLE coming: "How His Animals Can Help Heal Hearts: Hurt by Predatory People"
This work in progress is almost complete and focuses
on the created ability of some nephesh animals to reach
beneath mere words to the hearts of children and adults
who've been so hurt by abusive people that they've closed
off normal channels for counseling. Until the heart is
willing to risk trusting and loving again no amount of
counseling can work. The Good Shepherd is always better than our minds can fathom.
New ARTICLE coming: "JESUS WASN'T LAUGHING: Because 'It's' Not Funny"
Scripture records Jesus crying (for others in grief over their pain), angry (about the cruel misuse and abuse of power), and of course actively compassionate (toward all). The fact that the Bible never records Jesus as laughing does not mean that He never did. However, the Bible’s silence about Jesus laughing is a loud statement about the expression of His loving character, since God simultaneously sees all things in this infected world. God is constantly aware of all the horrible suffering experienced by millions of humans and trillions of nephesh animals. Why is there no record of Him laughing? The most obvious and logical reason is that “it’s” not funny. By “it”, I mean the current state of His creation and His church as a result of the free choice God gave to angels and man..

An Urgent Need - A Special Opportunity
The
Command of the Good Shepherd
What's your role now and what will it be as their future unfolds?
IT'S NOW YOUR TURN MY FRIENDS!
(Your turn to sacrifice for those suffering &
in need.)
I don't want your money (though I won't turn down any helpful gifts). My family spends thousands of dollars each year trying to help suffering souls, especially those most vulnerable to predatory people, politics, pastors, policies, and practices - as well as governments, transnational corporations and criminal organizations all of whom value money and personal pleasure above the lives of others.
I simply pray you will step
forward and do the work that right now time
and money limit my ability to do. After a summer
counseling families through serious
crisis situations, plus numerous animal rescues rehabilitating
wild animals in need, I now must focus on my science
teaching responsibilities. [I'll be teaching 7 classes of
biological sciences for 08-09 at NCS, instead of the
normal 5, plus caring for over 30 rescued wild animals,
so my GSI time is very limited now.]
I'm convinced you and
your churches actually can provide effective counseling to over 90% of families who need it. Also many of you have a special burden for
the Good Shepherd's nephesh animals that are suffering and you have
the time to help them. Please, sacrifice - go for it!
Here in
America we are providentially privileged -
meaning that God has
given many of you opportunities that the majority
of men and women and
children in the world do not have. Why did God allow
such inequality? Is it because you are better and more
worthy?
Certainly not! It's so that those
of you who serve the Good Shepherd can prove His
character to the world by sacrificially working
to rescue the millions who are stuck in horribly cruel
conditions beyond their control and not their fault.
Remember, you will stand before the Good Shepherd one
day, who is also the final Judge.
Because of my reduced available time (as well as lack of money for counseling indigent
families, animal assisted counseling of abused children
and adults, and rehabilitating wildlife), my GSI
work must for the present time focus on writing and speaking to
educate & motivate YOU and others to act for
them.
Please don't forget that THEIR
need for help is desperate, yes even right here in
America and our New Orleans / North Shore area. I've been "swamped" down here (forgive the
pun) this year with families in counseling crises, as well as animals in need of rescue and
rehabilitation.
It's hard having to turn down calls for
help, but I know that you and your churches can and will
now take the ball and run with it.
They need YOU. Remember, rescuing the helpless is our Good
Shepherd's command. |
Beliefs produce actions both for individuals as well as
cultures (Hitler, Stalin, et al). Oppression of
weak and helpless souls, tolerated by passive sheeple is increasing. Why? It’s because the cornerstone of our
world’s culture is cracked by a false view of our Creator
as a “cruel” designer of a monstrous “Way” called
“survival of the fittest”. Therefore, we must address the cancerous problem of cultural cruelty at this foundational spiritual level for lasting change (Gen 1-3;
Isa 65:25). Plus,
we must work together, in cooperation with others who care,
regardless of our differences as Christians and non-Christians,
Americans and non-Americans, Republicans and Democrats, dark tan or
light (technically we all are merely shades of "melanin").
Pray,
please, for us as we pray for you and them.
Im committed to speaking the truth in love without compromise,
and to careful, prayerful stewardship of all funds for the most
effective and efficient service possible. Feel free to
contact me about any questions regarding our financial
management. I've never received enough donations to cover
the cost of this ministry, so the balance comes out of our
family's home budget.
Yes, there are other voices (individuals and organizations)
addressing related needs - many who are far more gifted and capable.
However, the sad and urgent reality is that are too few voices. Suffering continues while most people passively
go on serving self in silent ignorance. Separately, we can only do a little, but together we can accomplish so
much more.
