Watch what happens when the famous evolutionist, Dr. Dawkins, is asked to provide one single example of a genetic mutation or evolutionary process that increases the information in the genome. (To view this you must have on your PC Macromedia Flash Player.)

Creation Quote of Interest:
Dr Emmett Williams, Creation Research Society Quarterly, 29(2):84, September 1992.

‘Anyone who questions man’s reasoning, particularly on the origin of the physical world, faces an arrogance almost beyond comprehension. Many scientists realize the weak underpinnings of scientific models but the spokesmen of naturalism and their media advocates will not abide anything that questions either the supremacy of man, his reasoning power or his conclusions. I have seen media interviewers, who gladly try to tear Christian and conservative guests to pieces, grovel before a scientist who is [one of the] illuminati of evolutionary thought. No one would dare to try to question a living example of the superiority of man’s reasoning power. They are in the presence of a high priest of the one and only knowledge — let all the earth keep silent before him!’

Text and Class Notes:
Remember, my PowerPoints and some WORD Documents are very large and take a lot of space.
I cannot afford to pay for the host storage space to keep all of them online at the same time.
So, I will only maintain the most recent and immediately needed files.
Also, remember that they take a long time to download, depending on your connection speed.

Creation vs. Macroevolution (Vertical Evolution) Unit
In the two weeks prior to the Christmas Break, we will try and cover the material below.  Due to many of you having to leave town early due to school and family activities, we may have to extend this unit into the week following Christmas break as well.  I encourage you to examine the PPT presentations and the listen to the audios in order to prepare for the quizzes and tests.  Also, remember that you will have a "Creation Paper" during the fourth quarter of the year, and if you pay attention and work well during this unit you will be much better equipped to produce a good paper.

LAB TEST Study Guide: "Dissection, Death, & Resurrection Life"
(Life Science Class)
*** TEST will be Friday April 22nd - Be able to identify the structures.

"Biology" = the study of life (Life Science), especially "nephesh" life that can think and feel.
Vivisection is the cutting up of an organism, while it is still alive, usually under anesthesia.
(We will NOT be doing any "live-sectioning" of any organism.)
(However, the humane vivisection, "surgery", of dogs last century led to the first successful heart surgery.)
"Thanatology" = the study of death.
Dissection of a "dead" organism is an excellent activity to contrast life with death, both biologically and biblically.

ORIGINS DEBATE - Which Model Best Fits the Evidence?
(Biblical Creation or One of the many Non-Biblical Models?)
Pray for the possibility for a debate / dialogue here on the NCS campus or in a local church:
One potential is to have Mr. Galloway debate an evolutionary teacher or professor.
Another possibility is to have another creationist debate an evolutionist.

Final Exam: Cumulative / Comprehensive -
Don't Worry.  The study guide will provide you with a clear awareness of exactly what you need to study.

HONORS STUDY GUIDE FOR YOUR FINAL EXAM
ON-LEVEL STUDY GUIDE FOR YOUR FINAL EXAM
Cumulative exams are very helpful tools for learning, not just a way to measure what you already know.
Studying for an exam does many things:
                * It reviews the most important concepts covered during the year.
                * It summarizes your knowledge into an organized outline for better recall.
                * The adrenaline actually helps solidify your memory of the subject for systematic recall for later in life.
                * Most of all, it helps teach you to prayerfully depend on the Lord.

My friend, Dr. Terry Mortenson, has written a great refutation to this recent National Geographic effort to both censor and distort the evidence available to its readers.  I highly recommend Terry's article.  Click the picture or go to the www.answersingenesis.org site to read it and print it out to pass on to others.

A few sample quotations, illustrating the full spectrum of evidence too often censored from the average biology student:

Dr Werner Gitt, In the Beginning Was Information, CLV, Bielefeld, Germany, p. 107, 1997.
"…there is no known law of nature, no known process and no known sequence of events which can cause information to originate by itself in matter."

Dr Lee Spetner (Professor of Biophysics at Johns Hopkins University) and author of, Not By Chance, The Judaica Press, Inc., Brooklyn, New York, p.138, 1997.
"
All point mutations that have been studied on the molecular level turn out to reduce the genetic information and not to increase it."

p.159-160  "Not even one mutation has been observed that adds a little information to the genome. That surely shows that there are not the millions upon millions of potential mutations the theory demands. There may well not be any. The failure to observe even one mutation that adds information is more than just a failure to find support for the theory. It is evidence against the theory. We have here a serious challenge to neo-Darwinian theory."

Francisco J. Ayala, The Mechanisms of Evolution, Scientific American, p. 65, Sept. 1978.
"
Insect resistance to a pesticide was first reported in 1947 for the Housefly (Musca domestica) with respect to DDT.  Since then resistance to one or more pesticides has been reported in at least 225 species of insects and other arthropods. The genetic variants required for resistance to the most diverse kinds of pesticides were apparently [already] present in every one of the populations exposed to these man-made compounds."  [Emphasis added]
