(Updated December 20, 2002)
Sin always leads to slavery in some way or another. Whether it's the Israelites under Egypt or Africans under the thumb of the Europeans or all of us under the leadership of the new, global village, the human heart is obviously infected with sin that tends to use others to fulfill the desires of self. Mankind's inherent problem is that we all, from birth, naturally love ourselves more than we love God and others. Please think about it - that's why we feed ourselves so well at "All-You-Can-Eat" restaurants. Only God is purely unselfish in His goodness, and willing to sacrifice Himself for the needs of others (the cross - Rom 5:5-13).
So get ready, folks. As the nations of the world try to create a new world apart from the Lordship of Messiah Jesus, slavery will continue under many new, subtle, and insidious disguises. As Scripture says in 1 Tim 6:10, money is a root of all kinds of evil. Watch and see as the global economy increasingly provides position and power to an elite few, who will naturally spread a form of subtle economic $lavery over those less advantaged.
Please remember, though, that Jesus commanded us as His followers to love those who oppress us, and to do good to those who persecute us (Rev 12:11). Sure, we can and should vote, lobby, and use whatever legal and non-violent means to stand against (Eph 6:10-20) unjust ideologies and practices. But our primary concern should always be for the souls of our enemies. Unless they turn to the Lord in humble submission to His Way of holy love, He will not allow them to enter into His eternal Kingdom of peace and perfection. Yet, as we let His unnatural, super-natural, self-sacrificial love rule over our attitudes, words, actions, and feelings, then our lives will have potential to draw our oppressors into our Father's arms - before it's too late.
Please don't naturally react to them with their kind of sinful, bitter selfishness, and pride. If you do, then you will sadly become what your oppressors have been. Instead, please respond prayerfully, in submission to our Lord and Savior. Let Him use your heart, mind, mouth, and hands to show others that He and His love are real and available to save them too.

Evolution: A Racist Theory
Where Violence is a Virtue. [Ideas have consequences and beliefs
produce actions. From the first lie in the garden of Eden - "you
shall be like god" - through Babylon, Hinduism, Theosophy,
Mormonism, and modern philosophers like Haeckel, Heidegger, Malthus,
Nietzsche, Darwin, Jung, Hitler, Stalin, Fromm, Maslow, Margaret
Sanger et. al., this self-deifying theory has produced the rotten
fruit of eugenics, abortion, euthanasia, and even genocide.]

Uncle Tom's Cabin [Unabridged Version], by

[Abe
Lincoln said this book sparked the Civil War. That's understandable,
since the main character, Uncle Tom, was one of the most powerful
examples of Christ-like character ever portrayed. It enabled white
Americans to look beneath the skin of a humble black man, and
see the heart of Christ. Any man could take the life of his enemy,
but only a man filled with the powerful love of God could give
his life for the soul of his enemy (Simon Legree)! Romans 5:1-8].

US, NATO, & UN Allowed Genocide in Rawanda
[Why? Why did they allow 800,000 to be slaughtered there without
coming to their aid, and then later attacked Yugoslavia relentlessly

Evil", reveals that the world
community, including our own country, deliberately ignored the

Bystanders to
Genocide (Atlantic Monthly) [Why did the United States not do more for the Rwandans at the time of the killings? Did the President really not
know about the genocide, as his marginalia suggested? Who were the people in his Administration who made the life-and-death decisions that
dictated U.S. policy? Why did they decide (or decide not to decide) as they did? Were any voices inside or outside the U.S. government demanding that the United States do more? If so, why weren't they heeded? And most crucial, what could the United States have done to save
lives?]
