Outline & Notes -
Rev 21-22 A
New Creation Eze 5:5
To Glorify God & Enjoy Him Forever
(New Heaven, New Earth, New Jerusalem)
Rev 21 - All Things Become New: No Suffering!
(Rev 21:1; Isa 65:17; 66:22; Dan 2:44; Mat 6:10;
24:35; 2 Pet 3:10-13; Heb 11:13-16)
Is your home a model of God's new creation? Complementary cooperation, instead of competition?
One God - 3 Persons (One People - 3 Groups):
To Administrate His Kingdom Forever! (1 Cor 10:32; Rev 21:2, 12, 24)
(Mat 6:10; 24:35; Isa 65:17; 66:22; Dan 2:44; Heb 11:13-16; 2 Pe 3:10-13)Church in Space station New Jerusalem -
(Rev 21:1-11, 14 Bride, tabernacle, priests of Melch.)According to the Scriptures, the physical dimensions of the New Jerusalem will be an awe inspiring 1,500 miles wide, long, and high. Some speculate that it could be a pyramid shape, but the text seems to indicate a perfect cube. Whichever, it will be a masterpiece of architectural genius, the work of the Master Carpenter, Jesus of Nazereth.
The Bible never says that it will come all the way down to earth, but merely that it will descend from Heaven. It will be larger than our moon, made of pure crystal and transparent gold, blazing with the radiant glory of the God on His throne. His light refracting through the various materials will produce a beautiful rainbow of color, beyond anything we have ever imagined.
It will be large enough to hold 20 billion people, each having a living space of one cubic mile. Folks, that not just a building, and its not just a city. It will in essence be, planet Jerusalem, the very center of the universe (Eze 5:5), around which all "things" will revolve. It will be the new tabernacle, the Bible says, the real Holy of Holies made manifest in time and space.
The New Jerusalem is described as being the bride of Christ. Why? How? Note that the foundation stones have the names of the apostles (Eph 2:20), not the apostles plus Israel's 12 tribes. It is the gates that bear the names of Israel's tribes. Why the distinction? The New Testament says the apostles are the foundation of the church, and the bride will dwell in special intimacy with the groom, Jesus.
Israel on Earth in the Middle East -
(Rev 21:12-23 Gates for 12 Tribes, no temple, no sun)Just as in the Old Testament era, the 12 tribes of Israel camped around the tabernacle. In the new creation, they will not dwell in this new tabernacle either. Apparently, they will live on earth under its glory, and its gates will be where the 12 tribes of ethnic Israel will enter as they come up from earth and enter to worship. The rule of Messiah Jesus, on earth will literally be delegated down to a physical Israel, with a physical throne of David, on which David himself will rule as promised as the governor/king. The church will rule together with Jesus inside the New Jerusalem, while Israel will over the nations on earth. (Remember from previous sermons, that the church is composed of those who submitted to Christ between Pentecost and the Rapture.) This does not mean that members of the church will never leave the New Jerusalem to visit the earth or even other parts of God's created universe, but merely that their delegated duty is primarily to serve as the Bride, in intimate fellowship with her Groom, Jesus.
While there will be a physical Israel on the earth, there will be no temple on earth, because the New Jerusalem is the temple for all of the universe. There will be no sun needed, because the glory of God will illuminate the whole world, from within the New Jerusalem.
Nations all over the Earth - (Isa 9:7)
(Rev 21:24-27 Walk, kings world peace & worship)The Bible here says that the non-church, saved among the Gentile nations will not live in the New Jerusalem, but will walk in its light on the earth. These non-Jewish "nations" are composed of those who were saved before the church was created, and after the church will be raptured. Remember, Jesus said he "would build" His church (future tense). He did not say, "I am building". So the believers prior to Pentecost were not of the church, according to Jesus.
The knowledge of the Lord (His Law of Love) will perfectly rule over all the universe for the first time since the Garden of Eden, and there will no longer be any sin. There will be no entropy, nor selfish competition, pain, fear, suffering, death, or decay. There will be no doctors, no soldiers, no failures, for the former things will have passed away, and all things will have become perfectly new. There will be no more Big Macs or Whoppers, because the whole world will be vegetarian just as they were before the fall (Gen 1:26-31; 9:3).
The old earth had become a giant cemetery, filled with the rotten fruit of suffering and death. The new creation will be a new Kingdom, expanding forever, to the glory of its Creator!
Rev 22 - Christ’s Three Dimensions Revealed:
Character - Rev 22:1-5
(Water & Tree of Life, leaves of health, no sin, face to face)As discussed in the previous sermon, God alone is the source of abundant and eternal life. He is the only Self-existent being. The leaves of health will not be used to heal disease, but rather to prevent any and all dis-ease. God will dwell with His people (one people - three groups) face to face.
I remember when one of my six children was a toddler. If I was talking to someone else and he wanted my attention, he'd come over and take my face in his little hands and gently pull me around until I was looking into his eyes. This is the desire of everyone's heart of hearts. One day, by God's grace, we will be that close to Him. However, it will not happen because we pulled His face around, but because He turned us to Himself. We love because He first loved us!
Counsel - Rev 22:6-17
(I AM, Coming, with reward, obey & be blessed, Come!!)God alone is worthy to be called counselor, and His counsel for believers is ultimately sweet. He is coming to rescue us from this horribly violent world, and nothing can stop Him. Even more, He is coming with rewards for every moment in which we as believers have humbly obeyed His Word (1 Cor 3).
Consequences - Rev 22:18-21
(Don’t add or take away from this book . . . .)Nevertheless, He is Holy and will not tolerate disobedience. James warns and says that not many should jump forward to be teachers, because teachers incur a stricter judgment for their stewardship.
So, teachers, beware. Do your homework well, and be careful not to add or take away from the truths given by God in His Word, especially in His Revelation of His Son, Jesus the Christ!
Are you as a head of household studying & teaching
the Revelation truths?
Are you praying for those who'll be left behind to see these truths before
it's too late?
Are your children ready for what may lay ahead in the very near future?
next week =
God's Administration of His-story
What Kind of Historian are You?
Covenant? Dispensational?
It determines how you live out your ranks, roles, and responsibilities on this
earth for His glory!
Remember,
every warning, struggle,
temptation, promise, strategy, and victory in the Revelation can also play out in your life, your family, and your church!
The choice is yours ................
What do you need to change?
(The final question to ask God, whenever
you study God's Word)
Lord, how
am I doing on your conflict meter, for your glory?
Giving Up < < < < Standing
Firm > > > >
Blowing Up
Remember there are only two
modes for a believer:
* Marching forward with the gospel.
* Standing firm when conflict arises!

Henry Morris, Ph. D. (Physical Science doctorate), The Revelation
Record. A theologically and scientifically sound commentary on the
book of The Revelation. Dr. Morris explains the amazingly accurate
scientific parallels described in the Revelation that were unknown to the
culture of the first century. Only God's direct revelation to John can
explain such accuracy. For example, the "flaming mountain"
crashing into the sea during the second trumpet judgment. How would John
have known of even the possibility of massive asteroids that would ignite in our
atmosphere as a result of the friction and tremendous speed?

comprehensive. It is exhaustive. Dr. Walvoord was on the faculty of
Dallas Theological Seminary for 50 years, and is recognized even by those who do
not hold to a premillennial perspective as being one of the most knowledgeable
scholars in the area of prophecy and eschatology.
