PRAYER REQUEST
As Linda and I celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary,
I've chosen to take an indefinite time off from "free" ministry
in order to pray, plan, & decide how to best provide for my family's needs.
(I'll still be working full-time, teaching biological sciences)

Beliefs produce actions.  Oppression of the weak and vulnerable by predatory people & policies (tolerated by passive sheeple) is increasing.  Why?  It’s because the cornerstone of our world’s culture is cracked, by a false view of our Creator as “cruel”.  We must address the problem at this critical foundational level for lasting change. (Gen 1-3; Isa 65:25)

Genesis Family Education has received numerous ongoing requests for service, extending throughout the rest of the year.
However, I believe it is best for our family that  I step back and prayerfully evaluate the future.  GFE  is and always was "free" for the entire 25 years of service to hurting families, churches, and animals in need.  We've never charged any fees, never begged, or even solicited for money, because money must not be a ministry motive.  In addition, I've been committed to speaking the truth in love without compromise, no matter what the cost.

Over the past quarter century, a few folks who have repeatedly benefited from GFE have donated responsibly.
(for internet resources, family counseling, crisis counseling, seminars, church sermons, church mediation, animal rescue, etc ...)
Sadly, most who regularly make use of ministries today, while appreciative, forget about the cost involved in time, money, & emotion.

Our family has sought to be the best stewards we could of God's time and money by living and spending frugally for 25 years.  We  liquidated my retirement and life insurance in order to cover ministry and family expenses.  (medical bills for my son's heart surgeries, helping our children with education tuition, paying off our home and two cars, etc)  After Hurricane Katrina, a few friends, family, and supporters were gracious and generous to help us get back on our feet.  Since then we have been very careful not to spend beyond our means, taking no vacations, etc.

However, increasing costs for website, taxes, medical bills, food, gas, (as you also experience) make drastic changes necessary.  I'm not sure what all of the changes will be, but I trust that our Good Shepherd will guide us into the future as He knows best.  He is always faithful and He alone is worthy of our trust.  The first change will be the formation of a new non-profit 501c3 organization,
Good Shepherd Initiative, Inc.  Just as GFE was "free" and dependent on donations for 25 years, GSI will be as well.  So, please pray for us as we pray for you. 

You are needed, and many of you have both the means and the heart to help!  Since lack of funding has prevented me from being able to invest as much time in direct ministry as was needed, I am asking you (for His sake and theirs) to please pray about giving to GSI.  The problem of souls horribly suffering the most (abuse, slavery, torture, rape) all around us is escalating rapidly  (cruel is becoming cool, because predatory people & policies are becoming the norm).   If you cannot serve in direct ministry by writing, speaking, rescuing, and restoring those in need, then please serve indirectly by giving financially to support those of us who can, both here and abroad.
